Supporting healthcare professionals who serve communities with limited access to pelvic pain care and expanding diverse participation across IPPS education, leadership, and research.
Applications are currently closedIPPS is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout its membership and educational programming. The JEDIS Program is designed to advance excellence in healthcare, education, and research in communities that experience limited access to pelvic pain care because of social, racial, or economic disparities.
The program seeks to expand the number of healthcare professionals who can provide specialty care in these communities and who can also serve as educators, researchers, and mentors. It also aims to increase the involvement of diverse healthcare professionals in the IPPS Annual Meeting, committees, initiatives, and leadership opportunities.
Scholarship recipients receive annual IPPS membership from the date the scholarship is awarded through the end of the following year.
Recipients receive free registration to the IPPS Annual Scientific Meeting.
A travel stipend of up to $750 is available for eligible meeting-related expenses and is reimbursed after the meeting with submitted receipts.
Applicants may come from groups that are currently under-represented within IPPS.
Preference is given to individuals who want to specialize in pelvic pain and who have not previously attended the IPPS Annual Scientific Meeting.
Current IPPS members with limited resources may also apply if they practice in a disenfranchised community and have not attended the Annual Scientific Meeting during the previous three years.
The program provides support for individuals from communities of color, LGBTQ+ communities, people with disabilities, and healthcare professionals serving economically disadvantaged or socially disenfranchised communities.
