First, I want to thank everyone for their support and I can't wait to see everyone and meet new faces in our Nation’s Capital, Washington DC, this October 12-16, 2017 for our 1st IPPS-sponsored and U.S.-based World Congress on Abdominal and Pelvic Pain Conference. We are extending the conference to 3 days plus an amazing Post Conference Day on the Neurophysiology of Pain presented by Paul Hodges, PhD and Lorimer Moseley, PhD, PT., so register now (add URL to registration). Our keynote speakers are Dr. Daniel Clauw, from the University of Michigan, speaking on, “Treating Pain Based On The Underlying Mechanism: Are We There Yet?"; Dr. Gerald Gebhart, PhD, from the University of Pittsburg, "Understanding Visceral Pain" and finally, Dr. Paul Hodges, PhD, from the University of Queensland, Australia "Body and Brain in Lumbopelvic Pain"
This is going to be an amazing meeting and registration is opened now! We are honored to have multiple internationally renowned speakers who will certainly create an amazing conference. We have 9 abdomino-pelvic pain cluster topics: (Biopsychosocial Considerations; Central Pain Mechanisms; Endometriosis; Gastrointestinal and Bowel Disorders ; Musculoskeletal Pain; Painful Bladder Syndrome/MAPP; Peripheral Neuralgias; Sexual Dysfunction; and Vulvar Pain Disorders) We will chose a scientific abstract to present for each cluster, so ask your colleagues, fellows, residents and students to submit. We are extending our Q and A to allow for more discussion.
Thursday night is our meet and greet, and Friday is our annual Fundraising Party, where you can meet our new Chairwoman, Georgine Lamvu, MD, our president, Me, and our other amazing officers, Board members and committee Chairs and members, who work hard to make our society strong and grow!
See you in DC!
